Eh, do we really want to list hardware stores? Is this soemthing a traveller would need - and which must be recommended so much that a look into the phone book would not suffice? -- (WT-en) Nils 19:42, 17 Jul 2004 (EDT)

Yes, this is no ordinary hardware store

[edit]

Because it carries items like Japanese utensils, it would be of interest to tourists and visitors. —The preceding comment was added by 66.122.51.130 (talkcontribs) on 21:50, 18 May 2005

I second this, Soko is much more than a hardware store and deserves a visit by travelers, they have many interesting traditional Japanese products, like a traditional version of IchiBanKan. 208.80.69.11 20:46, 6 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

Please plunge forward and change the listing. Ikan Kekek (talk) 21:14, 6 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

Japanese groceries

[edit]

I'd like to see something on the Japanese grocery stores in the area—of particular interest is where sashimi can be purchased for sushi-making at home. 75.0.6.163 23:56, 2 April 2009 (EDT)

Thread Lounge

[edit]

I don't recall ever seeing thread lounge in Hayes Valley. Their website seems to say they're in Mission. Would someone else please confirm this and remove the listing? 208.80.69.11 20:48, 6 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

Again, please plunge forward, but in this case, it would be better to move the listing to San Francisco/Mission District, if there isn't a listing for them there, already. And when you do (re)move it, please type something like "moving to San Francisco/Mission District" or "already listed in San Francisco/Mission District" in your edit summary.
One thing to understand about wikis is that everyone is a volunteer here, so unless your proposed edits are likely to be controversial, you should just do them instead of hoping someone else will do them for you. Thanks a lot, and I look forward to your contributions! Ikan Kekek (talk) 21:19, 6 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

Alternative banner for this article?

[edit]
Banner currently used in this article
Suggested new alternative banner

I created a new alternative banner for this article (I initially created it first and foremost so that it would be used at the top of the parallel article in the Hebrew edition of Wikivoyage, yet I later decided to also suggest that the English Wikivoyage community would consider using it here as well). So, which banner do you prefer having at the top of this article? ויקיג'אנקי (talk) 12:47, 11 August 2015 (UTC)Reply

These look like they're derived from the same picture. I have no strong feelings about one being superior to the other. Ikan Kekek (talk) 17:44, 11 August 2015 (UTC)Reply
The current one has a cleaner look, I slightly prefer that. Danapit (talk) 18:08, 11 August 2015 (UTC)Reply
I dunno, I actually prefer the proposed banner—and I say that as the guy who made the current banner. This new one is framed better and I get the feeling that the page title and ToC will be much clearer against this new image. PerryPlanet (talk) 21:59, 11 August 2015 (UTC)Reply
