Carpets

[edit]

Are the carpets mentioned here Carpets#Machine-made_rugs? If so, that should be mentioned & probably a link provided. Or are they handmade, in which case that should be mentioned & perhaps a link to Dalton added at Carpets#Outside_Asia_and_North_Africa. Pashley (talk) 16:40, 10 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

One version of the article mentioned "tufted rugs". Do we need a warning similar to this one? Or is that just an oriental rug dealer being snarky about competing rugs? Pashley (talk) 16:47, 10 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
  • What we DON'T need is useless hype like "Dalton is often referred to as the Carpet Capital of the World because approximately 80% of the world's tufted carpet is produced within 30 miles of Dalton." I don't know what a "tufted carpet" is, but I surely wouldn't think of trading the carpet my father bought in Istanbul for a North American one, ever, not over my living body. The nice American rugs I know about are made by Native Americans in the Pueblos in the Southwest, such as in New Mexico. I wouldn't suggest trading Turkish ones for them, but they are pretty in their own right. Ikan Kekek (talk) 17:55, 10 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
