Public transport in Stockholm County includes some ferry lines. Line 80, previously called Sjövägen, is useful for visitors to the city, as it offers a great view of the Stockholm harbour year round, covered by the public transport ticket system.

Regular SL tickets are good on this line, in contrast to the commercial sightseeing ferries. A Visa or Mastercard chip can be used to buy a single ticket; 39 kr for adults as of 2022.

Various vessels are used for the line. The newest ferries are battery powered. Dogs and bicycles are allowed on board.

Nybrokajen

Djurgården

Djurgården is a park island known for its museums.

  • 1 Vasa Museum (Vasamuseet). This museum displays the Vasa, an original warship built for the Thirty Years War which sank in Stockholm Harbour on its maiden voyage in 1628, during the heyday of the Swedish Empire.   • 2 Skansen. Founded in 1891, Skansen is the world's oldest open-air museum, containing a zoo with Nordic fauna, such as moose, reindeer, bear, wolf, lynx and wolverine. Nacka

Nacka Strand.

Nacka is a maritime suburb. The ferry calls at Saltsjökvarn, Kvarnholmen and Nacka Strand. These places were industrial areas which have been re-developed into offices and housing.

Stockholm harbour

Storholmen and Bogesundslandet

The northern leg of the line is less frequented. It serves the waterfront suburbs, as well as the Bogesund nature reserve.

  • 9 Ekudden. A dock at Djursholm, a famously well-to-do suburb with a small shopping centre. (Q15713797) on Wikidata
  • 10 Sticklinge. A suburb on Lidingö with a beach.
  • 11 Storholmen. A small suburban island without bridges to the mainland. Most of the island is private property, but there are some small beaches, and a restaurant. In the middle of the island is a beautiful deserted mansion. Storholmen (Q10681284) on Wikidata

This is the end station, and the boat loops back to Storholmen and Lidingö.
