From Wikivoyage General
Wikivoyage uses the Mediawiki software as a content management system. This software was established to provide a CMS for the well-known Wikipedia. Of course this software is not able to handle all the demands of a modern travel guide. An adaptation of the software ist needed.
Therefore a team of system operators and programmers are busy to add necessary features to the wikis.

[edit] PostgreSQL migration
The PostgreSQL migration was finished and was necessary to give additional access to geographic features like periphery querries.
[edit] Location database
The Location database stores the geographic hierarchy, interwiki links and several information on different locations. These data are available through all language branches.
This feature was already added but will be improved in future.
[edit] Insertion of maps
Wikivoyagers need maps. But we need free maps which could be included to the articles. The base of our maps will be ones of OpenStreetMap.
