On this page are written down the rules for new language versions as decided by the association Wikivoyage e.V.

[edit] Non-English language versions

1. To start a new language version at least five (5) interested people are needed. They show their interest by writing down their name in the interest list.
2. At least three (3) of them must be willing to become administrators of the new language version.
3. At least one person must have profound knowledge of English or German.
4. This group of applicants must then apply for a new language version either on the interest page or by e-mail to vorstand(at)wikivoyage.org.
5. After applying, the members of the Wikivoyage association will take a decision during an online meeting which will be held latest 14 days after appeal.
6. After a positive decision a basic package of meta-articles has to be translated on a temporary wiki.
7. After finishing the translation of the basic meta-articles the final wiki will be setup and opened for public.
